Varsity Boys Soccer Team Wins CSSA/HVSSA New York State Championship
After winning their league championship a couple of weeks ago, the Varsity Boys Soccer team had the opportunity to compete in a state tournament for small schools affiliated with their league. They defeated UPrep (Bronx, NY) 4-0 and captured their first ever CSSA/HVSSA New York State Championship for Boys Soccer.
This was a great accomplishment as something like this has never been done here at GISNY. We had a tremendous group of senior leaders who took commitment into their own hands. The team also finished with a school record for wins, finishing with an overall record of 10-1-2. It was gratifying watching a group of students buy-in and selflessly come together as one. Congrats to the team and our entire Interscholastic Sports program on a terrific fall season.
