Updates on the Campus of the Future: Spaces for Learning
We are pleased to announce that the loan for the building project, Spaces for Learning, has been secured. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the history of the school. The investment will cover the installation of a new heating and ventilation system, as well as the renovation of the lobby and classrooms. Securing the loan is not just a financial accomplishment; it is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing the best possible environment for our students and staff. This project moves GISNY's Campus of the Future another step closer to our vision of creating state-of-the-art facilities that support and enhance our educational mission; Spaces for Learning continues the progress already made with the Science Wing.
We would like to thank the entire school community for the support, and we owe a special thanks to our Business Manager, Michaela Rueda, for her exceptional dedication.
We are also pleased to share that we have selected VVA/Drees & Sommer as our Owner’s Representative and Mengler Mechanical as our Contractor. They join our team of architects (KG+D) and engineers (BGA), forming a strong group of experienced professionals. All selected partners bring a proven track record in managing school construction projects and are well-versed in the unique challenge of completing major work within the limited timeframe of the summer break, ensuring a smooth start to the new school year.
The Contractor has already begun preparations for the project by securing necessary resources and ordering long-lead-time items to ensure we meet the demanding project timeline. Additionally, all required permit applications have been submitted to the City of White Plains.
As the project unfolds, we will keep you updated on its progress. Until then, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school leadership or the Board of Trustees (gis_board@gisny.org) with your questions or comments.
