After school options for all ages and interests

Our After School Program (AGs) offers students enriching and enjoyable experiences in the afternoon. In addition to a wide range of enriching and fun activities, we provide after care for Pre-K and Kindergarten, as well as homework supervision for grades 1-6. AGs are led either by our experienced faculty or selected external experts.

Four Pillar Approach to Afternoon Programs (AGs)

Foundation Built from Pre-K through 8th Grade

Each class is thoughtfully designed to support skill-building, creativity, and confidence across four core pillars: STEM, Art & Creative Expression, Sports & Physical Wellness, and Business-Minded Activities. Programming gradually builds complexity across grade levels, ensuring developmentally appropriate learning with clear progression.

GISNY AGs

GISNY AGs are taught by GISNY teachers and are open to all students (subject to availability). They run for half a school year and offer a wide variety of options, ranging from sports and exercise classes, like soccer, fitness, running club or yoga to STEM clubs and, for our Swiss students (and all others), the Swiss AG covering Swiss culture and "Schwitzerdütsch"

Cost: $300 per AG per semester for grades 1 - 6. There is no fee for grades 7-12 unless and external AG is offered during a semester.

External AGs

Performing AGs

GISNY's performing arts program offers a creative outlet encouraging self-expression and confidence. It nurtures talents that may not be tapped into through traditional academic subjects. Participation in the arts also improves cognitive abilities, as it requires memorization, understanding complex narratives, and the discipline of practice.

Moreover, it fosters a sense of community and teamwork, as students work together towards a common goal, whether it’s a music concert or a play.

Performing AGs, such as Marimba, Choir, Band and Theater require additional commitment and experience. For this reason, students interested in participating in one of the Performing AGs are chosen at the discretion of the responsible teachers.

Performing AGs are free of charge and enrollment is for the entire school year.

AfterCare: Pre-K & Kindergarten (ES)

AfterCare is available for our Pre-K and Kindergarten (ES) students during the school year, Monday to Friday.

Session 1 | 2:05 - 3:45 p.m.

Session 2 | 3:45 - 5:45 p.m.

First semester AfterCare begins in September; second semester AfterCare begins end of January.

Sessions can be booked independently, i.e. on one day, you could choose the early session and on another day, you could choose the late session.

Fees per semester: $400 per session per day

$400 for one day (1 session) per semester ($800 for both sessions)
$800 for two days (1 session) per semester ($1,600 for both sessions)
$1,200 for three days (1 session) per semester ($2,400 for both sessions)
$1,600 for four days (1 session) per semester ($3,200 for both sessions)
$2,000 for five days (1 session) per semester ($4,000 for both sessions)

Homework Supervision: Grades 1-6

Homework Supervision is available for students in grades 1 to 6 during the school year, Monday to Thursday from 2:05 pm to 3:45 pm.

Homework Supervision starts with a short snack break (please pack an extra snack) after which students will do their homework under the supervision of a German-speaking GISNY teacher. After homework there will be time for free play and/or teacher-led activities.

Fees for Homework Supervision:

$300 for one day per semester/student
$600 for two days per semester/student
$900 for three days per semester/student
$1200 for four days per semester/ student

In the event of too low enrollment, we will combine homework supervision classes.

Extended Day Care: Grades 1-4

Extended Day Care is available for students in Grades 1–4 throughout the school year, Monday to Wednesday, from 3:45 to 5:45 PM. The program is run by an external provider and features a rotating schedule of activities, with each day dedicated to a different area of focus.

Fees vary depending on the class/day selected. Areas of focus include Martial Arts, Multi-Sports Club, Art, and Discovering Science Through Art.

A minimum of 4 students per day is required to hold each class. Enrollment is for a full semester commitment.

Registration

There are two registration periods for all GISNY AGs, external AGs, Homework Supervision and After Care. Parents will be alerted in advance of specific registration opening dates.

First Semester

Registration will open in June for AGs starting in September.

Second Semester

Registration will open in December for AGs starting in February.
