Welcome from the Parents' Association
Dear GISNY Parents,
Welcome to another exciting school year! The Parent-Teacher Association (PA) is thrilled to have you and your children in our school community. As partners in your child's education, we are committed to enhancing the learning experience by fostering a strong relationship between home and school.
Throughout the school year, the PA plays a vital role in supporting our students, teachers, and staff. Here’s a glimpse of what we do:
- Fundraising and Resources: We organize various fundraisers to provide financial support for educational programs, classroom supplies, technology upgrades, and other essential resources that directly benefit our students.
- Events and Activities: We coordinate activities that bring our community together, fostering a sense of belonging and school spirit.
- Volunteer Opportunities: We offer numerous opportunities for parents to get involved, whether through event planning, classroom assistance, or serving on committees. Your time and talents are invaluable to our success.
- Advocacy: The PA advocates for policies and initiatives promoting a safe, inclusive, high-quality education for all students. We work closely with school administrators to ensure our voices are heard.
- Communication: Keeping families informed is one of our top priorities. We regularly update parents on school events, PA meetings, and important issues through newsletters, Classlist, and, soon, our My GISNY app.
- Teacher and Staff Support: We appreciate and support our teachers and staff by providing them with resources, organizing appreciation events, and ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in their roles.
Our first parents' evenings will take place over the next two weeks, and we encourage you to join the PA by getting elected as a class parent representative. We have seven PA evening meetings during the school year.
Whether you have a little time or a lot, your participation makes a difference. Together, we can create a vibrant, supportive, and enriching environment for our children to thrive.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a fantastic school year ahead!
Warm regards,
Joana Stueber
(Deputy Head of PA 2023/24)
