Activities in the Library

Book displays at the Library

In April, we organized book displays on the themes of Poetry and Earth Day. Poetry was also a central focus of our storytime for children from Pre-K through grade 2. Additionally, our Themenwelt this month centered on the United Nations.

Damage Detectives

The 2nd-grade English classes had an opportunity to be Library Detectives this month. Students played a guessing game to identify hazards for library book and then examined “crime scenes” to determine what had ruined the book. Using observation skills and inductive reasoning, the detectives solved the mystery and learned how to take good care of their library books.

Easter Egg Hunt

Class 4a didn’t let a little rain keep them from their Easter scavenger hunt. They moved the fun inside, where they had to carefully tip-toe around the Library to search for their baskets among the books. From
