Presenting the Class of 2026

Last Friday, family, friends, teachers, and fellow students came together to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 at a moving and memorable Commencement Ceremony.

This year's graduates can be especially proud of their academic achievements. The Class of 2026 graduated with an impressive average Abitur grade of 1.67, including three students who achieved the outstanding final grade of 1.0 (equivalent to A+). 

We were honored to welcome several distinguished speakers, including Mayor Brasch of White Plains, Consul Natalie Tröller representing the German Consulate General in New York, Chris Brown, President of the GISNY Board of Trustees, and Volker Ovelgönne, Head of School. Their thoughtful remarks encouraged our graduates to embrace future challenges with confidence, curiosity, and compassion.

One of the most touching moments of the ceremony came in the form of a special gift from the graduates' Kindergarten buddies. The young students shared their wishes and congratulations in a recording, bringing smiles, laughter, and more than a few tears to the audience. 

A special thank you also goes to Mr. Himmelstein, the Class of 2026's homeroom teacher, whose guidance, dedication, and support have accompanied the students throughout the last two years.

As the graduates now prepare for the next stage of their educational and personal journeys, we congratulate them on all they have accomplished and wish them every success in the years ahead.

We are also thrilled about the broad varity of colleges our students are headed to in the US and Europe. Together, the class received more than $312,000 in merit scholarships, and one graduate was awarded the highly competitive DAAD Scholarship for German Schools Abroad, which provides a generous monthly stipend for the entirety of the student’s studies in Germany.
