Internship@GISNY | Experience Report Sonja Ahrendt

Dear Community,

We already had a short report from Hannes Schröder, our Lower School intern, a few weeks ago. Please read below a short report from our second intern, Sonja Ahrendt, about her time in the middle and upper school.

"During my internship at the German International School New York, I felt very comfortable from the very beginning. The warm welcome from the staff and the open atmosphere at the school made my transition much easier. I was particularly impressed by the supportive atmosphere: No matter who I turned to, I always received help and support.

The school is characterized by a particularly family-like

atmosphere. This sense of togetherness creates a pleasant learning environment in which not only the students but also interns like me feel very well looked after. The manageable class sizes also allow for very personalized instruction. Especially when starting a class or dealing with new topics, you notice how beneficial this structure is – it leaves room for individual support and genuine interaction in the classroom.

Looking back, I am very grateful for the experiences I was able to gain at GISNY and will take many positive impressions and inspiration with me for my future path."
