News from the Library: Book Returns & Summer Borrowing

As we begin to wind down the school year, we’d like to share a few important updates and key dates from the library. Thank you for your support in helping us wrap up the year smoothly!

Important Dates

June 8–12: 

• All library books are due
• Last week of class visits to the library
• Summer checkouts begin
• Textbook return lists will be emailed to students’ school Outlook accounts
   

June 15–17:

Textbook returns (Grades 5–11) + Library closed (except returns)

Details were sent to students via their GISNY email accounts.

• June 15: 7a, 7b, 8a
• June 16: 5a, 6a, 6b, 10a, 11
• June 17: 5b, 8b, 9, 10b

June 23:

Textbook returns (Grades 1–4)

Summer Checkouts

We’re excited to offer Summer Checkouts again this year!

Students returning in Fall 2026 may borrow up to 4 books for the summer if:

• All current library books have been returned
• Any outstanding fines have been cleared

Summer books are due back on the first day of school next year.

When can students borrow?

Pre-K & Eingangsstufe:
With a parent/guardian before or after school during June 8–12 or the last week of school

Grades 1–4:

During their final class visit (June 8–12) or with a parent/guardian before/after school during the last week

Grades 5–11:

During morning or afternoon break (June 8–12)

Please note: The library will not be open over the summer for book exchanges. Books may be returned early to the Front Office if needed.
