Afternoon Program

After you create your account with Jumbula, you can set up your child/ren's accounts to speed up the registration process. You will see a number of grade options that do not apply to GISNY (not in school, various Pre-K classes). Unfortunately, these options are offered through the system, and cannot be edited. 

We are using the following grades:

• Pre-Kindergarten
• Kindergarten
• Grades 1 - 12

Payments can be made via credit or debit card.

All new families with a completed admissions status will receive an email from our Admissions Manager, Ms. Lula, with information around the programs and the sign-up process. 

They can sign up their child/ren in the same way as current parents. Should you arrive during the school year, please contact us at AGS@gisny.org to discuss your options.

You will see two different sign up bottons on the pages Homework Supervision Options and AfterCare Options. 

The Multi Register button is for signing up for more programs, and/or more children. You can add programs to your shopping cart like on other shopping sites.

The Express Register button allows you to quickly sign up for the specific program without the option to add more programs.

With Jumbula, you can sign up all children with one registration process. To facilitate the process, we recommend to finish setting up your account before you click on register.  See "Creating a family account in Jumbula"

During registration, if you are signing up more than one child, add classes for only one child at the same time. The system checks for double bookings and will not let you continue until you assign a class to a specific child. For example, if you have two children (A and B), and you want to book a class for both on Mondays from 2:15 pm to 3:45 pm and on Tuesdays at the same time, you can check both classes on Monday and Tuesday for child A, finish the booking process, then do the same for child B. All classes will be in your shopping cart for checkout.

No. While there is a Jumbula app available in the usual download stores, the app is currently only for instructors.

All Internal and External paid AGs are non-refundable.

GISNY considers afternoon activities as extra-curricular activities that appear on school report cards without an assessment or evaluation.
 
Enrollment
Parents may sign up their children for AGs at the end of a school year for the first semester of the following school year through the Afternoon Program Homepage. The process is split into a Lottery Phase, where spots are assigned randomly, and a General Registration Phase, where they can sign up for open spots or opt to be put on a waitlist. During the General Registration phase, it will be instantly clear which AGs will have openings. Confirmations of the result of the lottery phase will be communicated at the end of the lottery phase. Lottery Spots must be paid for at checkout before the General Registration period. Participation is for one semester (September through January, or February through June) unless otherwise indicated.

Absence Due to Illness
Once a child is enrolled in an AG, attendance is mandatory. If your child is sick and will be absent, please notify the AG teacher via email and let the Front Office know. Email addresses are available on the GISNY website.
 
Excused Absence
In the event of a scheduled absence, please notify the AG teacher as soon as the conflict is known. The excuse should be in writing and handed to the AG teacher. In the Lower School, parents can hand a written note to the homeroom teacher who then will inform the activity teacher. A student may have up to three excused absences from an afternoon activity in a term (i.e. half a school year). Absence from an activity more than three times will disqualify the child and he/she may no longer participate in the activity. Parents will be informed by the school. Absences due to illness will not count toward disqualification.
 
Attendance
All teachers offering an afternoon activity follow an attendance list so that successful participation can be noted on the report cards. Unless there is a school-wide early dismissal, GISNY guarantees that activities will occur for all children in the Lower School. In case of an illness of a teacher, the school will find a substitute. Parents of children participating in after-school activities can rely on supervision until 3:45 PM. 
 
Discipline
GISNY’s behavioral guidelines for children are expected throughout the school day including during AGs. School rules and guidelines will be enforced during AGs. AG teachers will have the discretion to determine whether a child will no longer participate due to unacceptable behavior.
