The German School Network

GISNY is a member of a growing network of more than 140 German schools abroad who are endorsed and supported by Germany's Central Administration for Schools Abroad.

Each of these schools offers an academically exceptional and culturally rich bilingual education to students of all nationalities and backgrounds who are united by their interest in German language and German, Austrian and Swiss cultures.  One of the many benefits of a German school abroad is the ability for children of families who relocate from one country to another to integrate almost effortlessly into the curriculum and the daily school life.

GISNY is proud to partner with six other North American German schools with whom we meet regularly to exchange ideas and best practices.  Additionally, we coordinate with them on the administration of the German International Abitur (Deutsches Internationales Abitur, or DIA) exams.

The original name German School New York or Deutsche Schule New York (DSNY) was officially changed in 2014 to German International School New York (GISNY) / Deutsche Internationale Schule New York.
