Dr. Falko Lohberger
After my high school graduation in 1996 and my community service in Nienburg (Weser), I spent my college years in Clausthal and Heidelberg, where I wrote my thesis in the field of environmental physics. I pursued my doctoral studies in Medical Physics at the German Cancer Research Center from 2003 to 2006. Following a period as a postdoc, I decided, inspired by years of positive experiences from volunteering with youth and young adults in rowing sports, to begin teacher training for mathematics and physics education. Starting in 2010, alongside teaching, I took on various pedagogical and organizational responsibilities at the school and in 2018, I became the Deputy Head of School at Carl-Benz-Gymnasium in Ladenburg (Neckar).
When I received the invitation to join German International School New York, my wife, our two children, and I eagerly accepted it.
As Deputy Head of School, I strive to support our students' personal development and provide them with a comprehensive education at GISNY. This will ensure that they have open doors ahead of them, whether in the USA, Europe, or elsewhere.
