A Major Milestone in STEM Education

A Major Milestone in STEM Education

We are delighted to share some very special news: German International School New York has been accepted into the MINT-EC network, Germany’s national network of excellence schools for mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology (STEM).

MINT-EC brings together outstanding schools across all 16 German states, as well as a select number of German schools abroad. We are proud to now be part of this distinguished network.

Since 2009, MINT-EC has been under the patronage of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder (KMK). Membership is highly selective and represents one of the most prestigious recognitions for STEM education in the German school system. The network currently includes approximately 350 schools in Germany and abroad, selected through a rigorous evaluation of their STEM course offerings, gifted education programs, partnerships with universities and companies, and initiatives supporting girls in STEM.

For our students, MINT-EC membership opens the door to exciting new opportunities. They will be able to participate in MINT-EC camps, academies, and competitions, connect with students at other excellence schools, and work toward the MINT-EC Certificate—a nationally recognized distinction that can strengthen university and scholarship applications.

We are incredibly proud of this milestone and excited to share this achievement with our school community. It marks an important step forward in our commitment to inspiring the next generation of innovators, scientists, and problem-solvers.

We look forward to all that this new chapter will bring!
