Earth Day - Buddy Activities | April 22

Students came together today with their Buddy classes to celebrate Earth Day.

We learned that water in Westchester comes from the Catskill Mountains and, once we have used it, flows into the Hudson River / Long Island Sound, eventually reaching the Atlantic Ocean. The products we use have an impact on the quality of water - and the survival of species in it. For example, we learned about chemicals in products such as shampoos and cleaning products that cannot be filtered out of the water and are dangerous to fish populations. Students and teachers set goals for changes to make in their daily practices, to help protect the water we value so much!
