Email Ms. Maiberger

I'm Sabine Maiberger, and my husband and I recently moved to Mamaroneck from Vancouver. My two step-children are already carving their paths. I'm genuinely excited about my Head of Lower School role at GISNY. My journey began over 20 years ago in Germany, where I earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. This initial step propelled me into further academic pursuits, including studies in Religious Pedagogy at the University of Eichstätt, Pedagogy at Wolfgang Goethe University. I'm in the final stages of completing my Doctor of Education from Antioch University, focusing on Educational and Professional Practice.

Over the past 17 years, I've been fortunate to hold leadership positions in education worldwide, from Finland and Asia to Canada, all within international school settings.

At the heart of my educational philosophy is recognizing each child's uniqueness, prioritizing active listening, fostering inclusivity, and firmly believing in their innate capacity to shape their journey. Inspired by Wittgenstein's quote, "One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way," I advocate bilingual education as a means to open diverse doors in their path.
