GISNY Project: „Holocaust Zeitzeugen in Geschichten und Bildern“
COVID-19 Update
Liebe GISNY Schulgemeinde,
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear GISNY Community,
The first rays of sunshine this week give us at least hope that the weather will get a little better. What a pleasant surprise this would be and would certainly do us all good.
Today I will address two points only:
We are cautiously optimistic about May 15th and hope that perhaps we will be able to reopen the school for at least a group of students. Even if it is not yet clear under which conditions such a thing would be possible, we can assume that all students and teachers will certainly have to wear masks. At this early stage, I would therefore like to ask all parents to make sure that they have washable fabric masks available for their child or children. If you do not have any masks, please contact our team of parents, who have already produced masks for many institutions, and they will certainly be happy to help you. Email facemasks@gisny.org
The German Consulate in New York has agreed to have a representative join one of our next Wine & Cheese Evenings to answer questions from our German families regarding travel or residency permits. In order to best prepare for the meeting, please email your questions to the head of our Parent Association, Mrs. Rumpf-Steppat (marion@libossek.de) this week. We will then collect the questions and inform you in time when we will welcome a consulate representative to our Zoom meeting.
I hope that you continue to be well, that parent teacher conferences were informative and that you will continue to have the strength and energy necessary to survive this crazy time.
Best wishes, Yours, Lars Hierath
This is a free event that is meant to connect and inspire us, as well as, get us all moving. It is completely free and welcome to everyone in our school community (families, alums, former teachers, etc.).
