All Roads Lead to GISNY – Alle Straßen führen zur GISNY Diversity Week 2020 |January 21st to 24th Heute wollen wir Sie über Diversity Week 2020 informieren.
Today we would like to inform you about Diversity Week 2020. This year's theme will be "All Roads Lead to GISNY." In order to support one of our school's guiding principles, learning as a community, we would like to invite our parents to help us celebrate the international backgrounds of our students and their families.
Each class has randomly pulled a country form a wide array of countries that GISNY represents. If you are from that country or have a special connection to a certain country, we would like you to help us learn more about it. Therefore, we cordially invite you into the classroom to teach us about the various traditions and customs of your home country and the road(s) which led you to GISNY. Please join us as we celebrate our differences during Diversity Week 2020!
Please find below the countries designated to each class and their respective homeroom teachers. Feel free to reach out to the individual teacher if you are interested in representing a country and sharing your knowledge with a particular class. All are welcome! Thank you for your continued support.

„GISNY you make our Christmas bright."
On the Wednesday before the Christmas holidays, five students from grades 8 and 9 as well as parents from our school visited the Martin de Porres School in Queens. We delivered your generous donations from the wish list campaign, the class donation from grade 9 and the annual donation from the Parents' Association. We walked through the school and personally delivered each gift to the classes. The gratitude and joy was more than clearly felt by all the students. There were hand-made banners, a heartfelt "Thank you so much!", and a booklet with pictures and best wishes for Christmas. In the middle of it, we had a surprise - the newly founded choir of the MdP gave us a taste of their Christmas songs "Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer", "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night". For the first time, the choir performed in front of an audience. The Martin de Porres School tries to be a kind of substitute family for the children, which offers them security and love. With our help in the form of all the generous donations, the school is able to celebrate Christmas with all children of the school. "GISNY, you make our Christmas bright." Thank you very much for your continued and generous support!
