Projektwoche 2019
Being present means living in the moment. It means realizing that… Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, And today is a gift – that's why we call it the present!
Being present means living in the moment. It means realizing that… Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, And today is a gift – that's why we call it the present!
During project week from June 24 - 26th, we will focus on exactly this: being in the moment, using our five senses, taking care of one another and ourselves, mindfulness.
The students can choose between twenty different projects to learn more about this. In a photography project, for example, they will become detectives in search of details, in a yoga group, they will playfully get to know relaxation and breathing techniques, in a cooking project, they will sharpen their senses and in a music project, they will improvise together.
The projects will start at 8:30 AM and end at 2:05 PM on all three days. All students from grade 2 to 11 will participate.
We are looking forward to a relaxing and creative week full of new experiences!

Running News
Last Wednesday the track & field team hosted Monfort Academy. EF Academy, Soundview Prep, and The New York School of the Deaf. It was a cold, but competitive meet. Our middle school team pulled off the win by six points, and the GISNY high school team won by over 30 points. Awesome team work! The next and last meet of the season is on May 15th here at GISNY at 4.30PM. Go orange and blue!
On Sunday, the Running Club ran the White Plains Hospital Answer to Cancer 5K. It was another rainy run, but there were many smiles! Congratulations to all the runners especially Henry Kiehl (3rd in his age group), Adrian Binder (6th in his age group) and Luise Kramer (3rd in her age group). Come join us for our next race, St. Vincent's Spring Sprint, on May 11th.
