It is with great pleasure that we invite you to our second GISNY Fundraising Gala. The event will be held on March 30th, 2019 at 6:30pm at the magnificent Surf Club on the Sound in New Rochelle, NY. Put on your most fabulous attire, add a mask if you wish, and join us for an enchanting Night in Venice!

Have you ever wondered...
Which materials make a music box sound loudest?
What happens during an earthquake? Why does an object reverses direction when you look at it through water?
This and much more will be answered in our:
4th Annual GISNY Science Fair
on
Thursday, March 21st
7.00 pm – 8.00 pm
and
Friday, March 22nd
10:30 -11:50 am and 12:30 – 1:15 pm
in the GISNY gym.
Students from 3rd- 5th grade have been working hard on their projects and are excited to present their work! Everybody is welcome to watch and learn from our students as experts in their fields!

Schüler der 3.-5. Klassen haben hart an ihren Projekten gearbeitet und freuen sich darauf ihr Werk zu präsentieren.
Alle sind herzlich eingeladen den Experten zuzuhören und von ihnen zu lernen.

2019/20 School Bus Transportation
We would like to remind our families that New York State requires that you make a written annual request by April 1st if you are requesting transportation for your child. Please contact your school district's transportation office.

On Saturday, March 23rd, we will be hosting presentations on various careers. Students in grades 9 - 12 are invited to join.

BOOK FAIR
Many thanks to the many parent, teacher, and student volunteers who helped make our annual book fair such a success. We are always happy to see our students reading and this year students in grades ES - 4 were also inspired by local, award winning author, Roni Schotter, who shared her experiences as a writer of 30 books for children. Circus Show in Pre-K
Strahlende Gesichter, lautes Kinderlachen und viel Applaus - die Zirkusshow war ein voller Erfolg! Ein ganz herzliches Dankeschön geht an alle unsere extrem kreativen Kindergartenlehrerinnen, die vielen helfenden Hände der Eltern und GISNY Mitarbeiter und unsere drei künstlerisch sehr begabten Schülerinnen Johanna, Lynn & Vinaya für den tollen Einsatz und die großartige Energie, die zu einer relaxten und fröhlichen Atmosphäre führte. Unser Zauberer Lukas brachte nicht nur die kleinen, sondern auch die großen Zuschauer zum Staunen und unser Balloontwister Alejandro schaffte es, alle Kinder mit den gewünschten Ballons zu versorgen. Lukas und Alexjandro waren beide extrem von unseren Kindern begeistert, bei denen nie ein Bitte und Danke fehlte.
Beaming faces, happy children and lots of laughter - the circus show was a great success! A huge thank you to our extremely creative Pre-K teachers, the many helping hands of our parents and GISNY staff and our three artistically gifted students Johanna, Lynn & Vinaya for everybody's dedication and great energy that led to a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Our magician, Lukas, astonished his audiences big and small with his amazing tricks and the balloon twister Alejandro was able to provide balloons to all children. Lukas and Alexjandro were both full of praise for our polite children, who always remembered their 'Please & Thank yous'.

Running News
Running Club:
On March 3rd, members of the Running Club attended the first race of the season in Washington Heights. Issac Gladden (5th grade) and his mother, Ben (5th grade) and Lily Rawls (4th grade) and their parents also ran the hilly 5K. Congratulation to Sammy Rawls (ES) who was the champion in the 5-6 year old boys' race! Fantastic start to the season!
Please note a change in our race schedule. Our next race is the Answer to Cancer 5K and Fun Races on May 5th in White Plains. In addition to the running, there is family friendly block party and all funds go to help the White Plains Hospital Cancer Center.
Track & Field:
Track & Field season is finally here! Students in grades 7th-12th can join the team. Practice will begin on Wednesday, March 13th. If you didn't sign-up but you're interested, please come join us on the 13th. Meet in the gym lobby and be prepared to start training. The next excursion "Shopping with Mrs. Vanderbuilt - Ladies Mile" has been rescheduled for Monday, March 18, 2019. Details are available on the school website.
