Library

Welcome to the GISNY Library!

Our bright and spacious library is home to our extensive collection of over 13,000 items. The GISNY library offers our students a place to discover their next favorite book, with ample seating and study space. As part of the Campus of the Future project of 2018, the newly built library includes the Silentium -- an adjacent silent study area equipped with tables and seating for individual study, as well as a computer station for research and school work.

Our collection offers a varied selection of German- and English-language materials, including: picture books, chapter books, non-fiction & reference materials, DVDs, and CDs. While the majority of our collection focuses on German language development, we support our English and Foreign Language Departments with access to digital and print materials through cooperation with local libraries and institutions.

Parents may visit the library during the parent hours or by appointment. Please contact the librarians if you have any questions.

Tips for using the online catalog:

  • Under “any,” you are able search by author, subject, or title. The button "enhanced search" allows combined research.
  • Words spelled in German with an "Umlaut" should be entered either as “ä” or “a” (“ae” will not work).
